What is your Free Website Hosting service?

This is an informal arrangement where you can use the LavenderCAM.net server to host your website for free.

What sort of website can I host?

This service is suitable for small, low bandwidth sites with a mainly static content - personal home pages, club / charity information etc.

What sort of website can I not host?

Large, dynamic websites with high bandwidth. Sites with server side scripting, content that is either illegal, hateful or likely to cause offence. If you have to think whether the content of your site is suitable, then it probably isn't!

What guarantees do you offer for service availability?

This is a free service and there are no guarantees for service availability. Your website can be removed at any time if it is deemed unsuitable, for technical reasons, lack of use or if the hosting service is discontinued.

How do I access my site?

You choose a name for your site. Access is then via http://name.lavendercam.net. Pages for your site can be uploaded using the File Transfer Protocol (FTP).

How do I apply?

Use the "Contact" tab on the left to send an email giving details of site name and description, your name and contact details along with confirmation that you agree to the above terms and conditions. Setup on the server is carried out manually and may take a day or so. You will be emailed when this is complete.
