Fires in the United Kingdom
The UK is covered directly by the worldwide NASA map, so it does not rely on being included in an EU list. Choose UK view above to zoom in on England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The European fire service also includes the UK, but mainly records larger fires. There is no single live public list covering every UK fire service, so the map uses several sources together.
How to use the map
The map starts with fire areas recorded by the European fire service during the last seven days, including its coverage of the UK. Click a coloured square, or zoom in and click the outlined area, for the place, date and mapped size.
Satellite heat spots are available from the map menu, but are switched off when the page opens because many are not wildfires. Even the filtered spots are only possible vegetation fires. If you are near an affected area, always follow advice from the local emergency services.
